CHRISTMAS

This year we were lucky enough to try some of British traditional Christmas food! Teacher Sarah brought some Mince pies from England with her for us to try! We also made our own version here in Spain. As well as the pies, we looked at Christmas Crackers, which are also traditional objects that are especially for Christmas. We learnt lots about a traditional British Christmas!

Este año tuvimos la suerte de probar algo de la comida inglesa tradicional navideña! La "Teacher" Sarah trajo de Inglaterra unos dulces llamados "mince pies" para que los probásemos. También trajo para que conociésemos "Christmas crackers" que son unos objetos tradicionales que se usan en Navidad especialmente. Aprendimos mucho sobre las tradiciones de Navidad en Gran Bretaña!

ST. ANDREW'S DAY

The 30th November is St.Andrew's Day. He is he patron saint of Scotland.
Unfortunately we weren't able to look at Scotland in November, but if you like you can have a look at the presentation here!

El 30 de Noviembre es el Día de San Andrés. Él es el santo patrón de Escocia.

LONDON

United kingdom capital is London. It is the capital of England as well.
We completed this sheet with the best known landmark in Lonodn.

La capital del Reino Unido es Londres. También es la capital de Inglaterra.
Nosotros completamos esta ficha con los edificios y monumntos más importantes de Londres.

BONFIRE NIGHT

The 5th of November is an important day in the UK. Teacher Sarah explained to us why.
We learnt that it is called Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night or Guy Fawkes' Night.
She told us the story of Guy Fawkes. who wanted to kill the king.
Also we looked at how they celebrate it nowadays and the use of fireworks and sparklers.

El 5 de Noviembre es un día importante en el reino Unido. La teacher Sarah nos explicó el porqué.
Nosotros aprendimos que se llama "Noche de hogueras", "Noche de Fuegos artificiales" o "Noche de Guy Fawkes". Ella nos contó la historia de Guy fawkes que quería matar al rey.
También miramos cómo la celebran actualmente y el uso de fuegos artificaiales y vengalas.

HALLOWEEN

This week we have done lots of activities about Halloween! We worked with pumpkins, characters and ´trick or treat´, as well as learning a song to go with it. We played lots of games, which you can see in the video. Happy Halloween!

Eta semana hemos hecho un montón de actividades con motivo de la fiesta de Halloween.
Sarah nos enseñó una presentación y nos habló de calabazas, disfraces y de la costumbre británica "Truco o trato" de la que aprendimos una canción. Luego hicimos varios juegos, que podeis ver en el video que os mostramos. Feliz Halloween !

AUTUMN ACTIVITIES

In English classes we learnt the names of lots autumn animals. Then in art classes we made them using autumn leaves. Have a look at our work!
En las clases de inglés aprendimos los nombres de un montón de animales relacionados con el otoño.
Después, en las clases de plástica hicimos algunos con hojas de otoño que recojimos. Echad un vistazo a nuestro trabajo!

We sang a song about him, and then painted him in art classes too.
También trabajamos haciendo un espantapájaros (El proyecto del colegio del 1º trimestre)
Cantamos una canción sobre él, y después lo pintamos en las clases de plástica. 
Parece auténtico, miradlo!

 

AUTUMN

We have started to look at autumn. Sarah has taught us about autumn months, colours and animals.
In arts class we have used leaves to make the autumn animals that we learnt about. They look very good.

Comenzamos el calendario de las estaciones hablando del otoño. Sarah nos ha presentado los meses que corresponde, colores, animales, ... y luego en la clase de plástica hemos hecho unos animales con hojas que han quedado muy originales.

Our last class with teacher Amelia was the rehearsal at the library.

Independence Day, 4th of July.

Our last project was dedicated to a national holiday in the United States, Independence Day.  We colored the USA flag, counting the stars and stripes and why they're important.

Nuestro último proyecto lo hemos dedicado a la fiesta nacional estadounidense, el Día de la Independencia.  Hemos coloreado su bandera, contado sus estrellas y sus bandas y el porqué de esa cifra.

From Head to Toe

We chose this story for telling and acting out during the celebrations of Book's Day at school.  First, we learned the vocabulary related to the animals in the story, the parts of the body, and the actions each animal can do.  Then, each student created a page of the book and decorated his/her mask.  Finally, we acted out the story!

Elegimos esta historia para contar y escenificar con motivo de las celebraciones del día del libro en el colegio.  Primero, aprendimos el vocabulario relacionado con los animales que aparecen en la historia, partes del cuerpo, y acciones que éstos pueden realizar.  Luego, cada alumno creó su página y decoró su máscara.  Finalmente, escenificamos la historia!

With spring comes Easter

With the coming of Spring we talked about the weather, Easter activities, and wrote spring poems. We did an Easter egg decorating workshop too!
